Jordi Mora was born in Barcelona. He studied at the Conservatori Superior de Mùsica, later at the Würzburg Musikhochschule (oboe with K.Hausmann).
Subsequently, he studied musicology and philosophy at the Munich University (thesis on Beethoven´s instrumentation).
Jordi Mora received his education as a conductor and phenomenology of music with Sergiu Celibidache at the University in Mainz, in Munich with the Münchner Philharmoniker, and other places like Trier, London, Stuttgart and Paris.

He has been Music Director of the Münchner Camerata, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and the Athens National Orchestra.

He has been invited to conduct in Germany, Spain, France, Russia, USA, Romania, Greece and South America orchestras like Orquesta Nacional de Argentina, Orquesta de Granada, Orchestra of the Radio and Television of Greece, Minsk Philharmonic, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatro del Liceu, Sinfonietta d’ Amiens, the Camerata of Athens, Orquesta Sinfónica de Santa Fe, Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Sinfónica de Valéncia, among others.
Likewise his repertory includes numerous first performances.

He does a large pedagogical task, specially in Spain, Norway, Germany and Argentina. He works regularly with the Fondation Résonnance in Morgues (Switzerland).
Since 2003 is Professor in Conducting at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and since 2010 as a regularly guess-professor at the Grieg-Akademie in Bergen (Norway).

He has been member of the jury of many International Competitions (Mitropoulos, Tárrega).

Nowadays is the Music Director of the Orquestra Segle XXI and the Bruckner Akademie Orchester, orchestra which he is conducting all the symphonic works of this composer.
